Weeklong Vocal Workshop in Italy - Stage Vocale Italie Été 2018, 15-21 Juillet

This summer we are going to Tuscany for a week of song! Tuscany, home of rolling hills, historic villages, art, good food and good wine!
This week long intensive workshop will take place in Querceto (http://win.association-marcopolo.org/FR/9-Querceto/pag1.html), a beautiful hamlet perched along the slopes of Mount Aneo in the commune of Montecatini Val Di Cecina (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montecatini_Val_di_Cecina).
The course consists of daily vocal and body training exercises, including dance, breath work, ear training, musical awareness activities (based on the work of John Stevens), improvisation, harmony and rhythm, scatting, confidence building and both group and an individual session of make up the week. All material is jazz-based.
Dare the unknown and find your creativity
You are advised to have at least one jazz standard to work on, the sheet music should be in your key. If you have problems finding something or transposing please let me know.
Course work to include:
- Respiration exercises
- Vocal Warmups
- vocal exploratory games, discovery of new sounds and possibilities
- Harmony and its role in melody
- Ear Training
- Understanding a Lead Sheet (simplified sheet music)
- The couleurs of the voice, dynamics, tone
- Rhythm exercises, including dance
- Expressiveness, musicality, interpretation
- individual work with my assistant and pianist David Sandes
Course materials will be sent to all participants. Materials needed: blank notebook, pencil, erasure, music paper, comfortable clothing.
Price of Course: 340 € + accommodation (accommodation to be arranged directly with the Association Marco Polo, Accademia Libera) A special early bird price of 300 € for those who register and pay before the end of April. A deposit of 100 € is payable at the time of inscription, the rest 30 days before the start of the workshop, by check or bank transfer. (PLEASE NOTE, if you decide to cancel up to 30 days before the start of the summer workshop, a 50 € fee will be charged for administration)

If you want to explore the region, or you go with a friend who wants to explore while you work, a car is advisable, possible even shared among the participants, but this of course needs to be arranged amongst yourselves.

Ce stage intensif d'une semaine aura lieu à Querceto (http://win.association- .org/FR/9-Querceto/pag1.html), un joli hameau perché sur les pentes du mont Aneo dans la commune de Montecatini Val di Cecina (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montecatini_Val_di_Cecina). Les stagiares seront accueillis le dimanche (vous pouvez arriver plus tôt bien sûr si vous voulez). De lundi des exercices vocales et corporels, y compris la danse, seront pratiquer quotidiennement. Travail de respiration, de formation auditive, les activités de sensibilisation musicale (basé sur le méthode de John Stevens), l'improvisation, l'harmonie et le rythme, le scat, développement de la confiance et développé, tant aux groupes qu'a une session individu composent la semaine. Tout le matériel et les exercices sont basés sur le jazz. Il est conseillé d'avoir au moins un morceau d'un standard de jazz à travailler, avec une partition en votre tonalité. Si vous avez un problème de trouver une partition appropriée, je peux vous conseiller.
Le matériel de cours sera envoyé à tous les participants. Matériel nécessaire: un cahier de notes / crayon et gomme/papier à musique/des tenues confortable.

- Les explorations vocales, la découverte de nouveaux sons
- L’harmonie et sa rôle dans une chanson
- L’entraînement auditif
- Le Décryptage des partitions
- Les variations (registres, volumes, couleurs)
- Le rythme, l’exploration par la danse et les exercises vocales
- L'expressivité, la musicalité, l’interprétation,
- Une séance individuelle avec notre assistant pianiste pianiste David Sandes.

Le prix 340 € (300 € tarif préférentiel pour payer registrer et payer avant la fin d’avril) le tarif n’inclus pas l’hébergement. Je vous conseille d’arriver le 14.
